Improvement, Verification, and Refinement of Spatially Explicit Exposure Models in Risk Assessment – SEEM
A risk assessment tool to provide predictive modeling spatially to assess changes in the contaminant concentrations in wildlife. Can be used to assess changes following remedial actions or other management alternatives at sediment sites. SEEM tracks exposure of all individuals in a local population, rather than calculating exposure for a single representative individual. In addition, SEEM increases the realism of the exposure assessment process by incorporating habitat suitability and foraging behaviors at a finer resolution versus considering the entire site. The current target species is small mammals.
