Environmental Restoration (ER) Program Area
The objective of this Topic Area was to demonstrate and validate environmentally sustainable methods to clean firefighting delivery systems in aircraft hangars or on firefighting vehicles. Another objective was to demonstrate environmentally acceptable treatments of any rinsate or residue derived from the cleaning process.

Demonstrations should identify a method to remove all trace elements of the current firefighting agent from its existing systems, thereby eliminating the need to replace equipment, which would be an enormous cost savings for the Department of Defense (DoD).
