Aquatic sediment contaminated with a wide variety of hazardous compounds is a significant liability for the DoD. SERDP and ESTCP have supported research and demonstration strategies to support DoD restoration goals since 1996. This session will highlight sediment and stormwater issues and research projects. Specifically, it will provide a regulatory and restoration project manager perspective of contaminated sites as well as an overview of best management practices and innovative approaches for site characterization and treatment of sediment contamination and stormwater runoff.
