UXO search systems using acoustic methods is a “good news bad news” situation: the good news is the ability to investigate relatively large areas with broadband acoustic sensors; the bad news is when you do that, you have created an enormous amount of data to analyze and interpret. In turn, to do that well, requires extremely precise geolocation of sources and receivers, and confidence that the sources and receivers are stable and repeatable.
