This symposium will present information on advances in bioremediation and the incorporation of green and sustainable practices in remediation. Technologies and implementation practices will be examined in a series of technology-focused sessions. The development and use of advanced tools for assessing and monitoring bioremediation and natural attenuation, as well as the challenges of applying bioremediation at various types of complex sites and under extreme climatic conditions, will be considered. Other sessions will address biodegradation of emerging contaminants and biofuels and the evaluation and mitigation of vapor intrusion.
